When the crisis precipitated by the catatrophians is finally over in relation to COVID 19, the biggest question many will be asking is why was Andrews advisory system not working .( Morrisons too but a much lesser extent) While there is much complexity and Bretts ignorance and arrogance must be like those in power , its a cocontation of similar problems into one solution preoccupied problem .
How do these desperately dumb attention seekers get away with their simplicities for so long ?
Andrews thinks he knows and those who work for him too are prone to think they know what they are doing, After all why do they get and keep the job except by agreeing that Andrews knows what he is doing . The longer the powerful are in power the more like the leaders the followers get>
Previous state leaders could be to be very expected envious of just how popular all Premiers have become ( even if for different reasons : crisi climate does that ! ).
presumably too many of them are no different in the sense that they see themselves over the issue when fo nearly all their lives it is them who are never over them ( and their brilliance ) as the issue
For the first time in decades/lifetime in politics they appear to be ACTUALLY doing something and for those in the emerging emergency and policing services ( who are growing unsustainably ) who now populate the earth, this is their once in a decede chance to shine . Attention seeking on a grand scale .
SHOCKINGLY SIMPLE STATS that mean what ever Andrews wants them to mean
Fortunately for Andrews, noone out there is very good at stats so its going to take a while before the people realize that his use of stats is seriously sus . We have not deaths with COVID and deaths from COVID as we would have with pneumonia . or no of tests in diffrent localities to give cred to them on T&T basis .
SLOWLY this week ( 28th Aug ) we suddenly have deaths by postcode and institution they still haven't got the message that numbers of tests would have some hope of reinforcing their sus logic on how the disease spreads and whose fault it is .
It is a wonder Andrews isn't with his T&T mindset myth blaming nurses or visitors 4 misbehaving )
The blame game suits him an d his justification for his own T&T experiment, RNA continues to rain down on all ----his time is coming .

Governments who fail to accept that it always costs the public to effectively deal with danger are the most dangerous. If the said government is not paying for the consequences they create ( however well intentioned , were they well informed reactionary or of their own initiative?
In other words if decisions are not made with all cost effective considerations ( real care) then the care ( and even discipline ) offered will be superficial and self righteous and likely to fail; likely to create many adverse consequences ( externalities ) that don't make sense long term ( eg no change to the mortality rate long term) This applies not only to people but the whole ecosystem elements involved.
All ecosystem elements play their part in creating risk , We limit talk of evil to the human component because the first thing we can do well or badly is dealing well with the human risk component.
The natural elements we deal with using science care and custodial wisdom but the human condition issues are often the least predictable/ controllable
The West used to do well to educate about risk and balance : To say that prosecution only came after based on taught simple laws ( not ones introduced for the time;); By contrast many governments of the moment have no commitment to education , believing men are determined and need incentives to act we assume well or badly, This heresy of raw power is unsustainable because while compliance can be obtained, the cost and the lost opportunity cost of sound cooperation via understanding is lost

Governments who don't believe in evil incarnate are most likely to miss the source and be largely ineffective in dealing with it . The government ( incl National ) are not telling us what we need/want to know ( eg in my case ratio of tests to casesand why high titre doesn't mean high herd immunity and antigen buildup for people in enclosed spaces, skin and other bioaerosol levels. The test and trace ideas assumptions i find unconvincing as if they are measuring presence or absence when it is clearly not just that
A good government would try to explain whether / when /why/what sort a solution a vaccine a likely , whether the virus will go away , whether there is any evidence of herd immunity and why the flattening of the curve is not evidence of developing immunity .Currently curve talk just causes confusion and high number preoccupation will not convince epidemiologists.
Governments who see themselves largely as doers of good ( Cf Doers of what works sustainably ) can fail to accept that it always costs to effectively deal with danger are most dangerous and they must weigh up the cost benefit of their actions
