Peter Ryan is right about one thing , if labor weren't playing shallow nimby games and neglecting the proper rules of conservation planning,(eg Where should the wind power industry be directed ) the public wouldn't have to parrot the principle of going for the parrot. Shallow "nocommon sense conservation " and throw the simple endangerde species leads in battles have become common with common sense planning principles lost.Fight every battle on your own, and with an endangered whatever is the practice at the moment. Surely the only argument allowed in DSE is a colourful bird or tangible feeler friendly furry one. Any argument from anywhere else in the spectrum of sustaiability impertives is no longer funded - the arguments will be as shallow and as short term as the ever more popular birdbath tricks.
